The writer

Kieran Haynes

Hello there. I’m a writer and songwriter. I’m also a full-time copywriter for Radix Communications.

As a songwriter, I write about love, chess and octopuses. As a copywriter, I write about whatever my clients need me to. (This isn't usually love, chess or octopuses – though I do put together the occasional blog post for Sole-Mates-In-Two.com, the online dating service for strategically-minded sea creatures).

Mat McIvor

'I'm an artist, illustrator, and mural painter from Birmingham, but have been living in Penzance for the last 10 years!'

'I'm either creating my own unique paintings of the Cornish landscape, creating artwork for posters for musicians and venues, or holding workshops with young people to teach them mural painting and helping them to create massive pieces of public art.'

'I'm also blind in one eye!'

Monsters of Rock (Pools)

Yesterday morning, Mat McIvor and I went leaping between the rock pools of Porthleven, led by our fantastic flavour forager, Miles from Foodswild.

Yesterday afternoon, I invented a new game. It’s called ‘metal band, or edible seaweed?’
